THE SOUTHMINSTER RINGERS
THE LIGONIER HIGHLAND GAMES IS HONORED TO HAVE THE WONDERFULLY TALENTED SOUTHMINSTER RINGERS PLAYING AT OUR EVENT
This is one of the hidden gems of the Ligonier Highland Games and one that too many people don't realize is part of our event.
The Southminster Ringers, under the direction of Richard Pinkerton, are a group of incredibly gifted young people that are sponsored by the Southminster Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh.
They've toured Europe several times and toured Romania and Hungary in 2016, playing at many locations and helping to raise funds for charities in the countries they visited.
They are incredibly talented and dedicated to sharing their love of music and their skill at this difficult and increasingly rare activity. Watching them play a multitude of bells of all sizes in complex and synchronized melodies, with their gleaming brass and quick hand movements is an amazing sight.
They will be set up on near the carousel on the amusement park side of Idlewild, and play twice during the day, at 11:00 AM and again at 4:00 PM. We highly recommend you take the time to see them perform, and it's really something to see.
